I’m happy to report that I am maintaining my live bankroll and haven’t added any funds. The interesting thing about having a box of poker chips at home to draw from is that it makes me aware of what I call “Billionaire Brain” or “Corvid Syndrome”—the act of collecting money just for the sake of collecting money. Despite having more than $1,200.00 in chips, I no longer see it as money; I see it as just chips. I imagine that as one accumulates wealth, the value of the money disappears and is replaced by the joy of collecting. Money becomes chips, and chips become shiny objects, much like what crows, jays, and magpies snatch up.
I haven’t had much success in online tournaments over the past couple of weeks, but I am managing to maintain my bankroll by occasionally grinding away at cash games.
As far as free-rolls go, they’re starting to lose their lustre. With a field of thousands of players, the chance of getting “donked” out is just too much to take, especially after investing hours of play time. I think my time is better spent cleaning and vacuuming. However, if you want to learn how to play, free rolls are a great way to get started. Right now, WTP Global is running a $2,000,000.00 (yes, two million dollar) free roll series.
Well, that’s it for now and thanks again for reading.
