I added USD 10 to my GGPoker account and decided I wouldn’t add more than that on any given day. I don’t want to go broke as I learn to play a better game. This includes becoming more disciplined, a key trait in becoming successful. As Phil Hellmuth says, “The key to poker success is discipline and patience. It’s not about making flashy moves; it’s about making the right moves.”
My plan of was to enter a tournament with 25% of my bankroll and use the remaining 75% in a cash game to recover my buy-in. The idea was to play the cash game tightly at the same time as the tournament so as to be at scratch in the event I got knocked out or, best case scenario, pick up a re-buy or two. This isn’t the plan as I don’t want to tempt myself into playing too loosely.
I ended up cashing in the tournament as well as picking up some loose change in a $0.05/$0.10 ($0.05) cash game. But my smugness got the better of me and ended up losing my entire bankroll in a cash game after the tourney finished. Like I said I need to work on my discipline.
That’s it for today, off to enjoy the sunshine.
Thanks a lot for visiting.
I’m a friendly guy and have zero tolerance for abuse and disrespect so play nice … here and at the tables.
